안필연은 다양한 실험적인 작품을 선보이며 늘 변화를 시도하는 현재진행형의 작가이다. 예측 가능한 공간보다는 한정되지 않은 공간에 활력을 넣는 작품이 특성이다.
안필연(b.1960)은 서울대학교 미술대학 조소과와 동대학원을 졸업하고, The Citty College of New York School of Architecture에서 Urban Design and Landscape Architecture를 졸업했다. 현재 경기대학교 입체조형학과 교수로 재직 중이다. 금산갤러리(2020), 동덕아트갤러리(2017), Beyond Museum(2011), Hong Kong Science Park(홍콩, 2010) 등 다수의 개인전을 개최 하였으며 광주비엔날레, 방콕비엔날레, Sharjah Biennial 등 단체전에 참여했다.
<디지털이민자가 디지털본토인에게>은 작가가 개발한 증강현실 앱을 통해 작품을 감상할 수 있는 관객 참여형 작품이다. 디지털 문명에 익숙한 MZ 세대들에게 ‘Retro Digital’에 참여하는 방식의 ‘Interactive Art’를 설치한 이 작품은 세대 간의 공존에 대한 담론이다.
Pilyun Ahn is a progressive artist who has always been trying to make changes by presenting various experimental works. Her works are characterized by bringing energy to the unbounded spaces rather than predictable ones.
<Digital Immigrants to Digital Native> is an audience participatory work that can be viewed through an augmented reality application, developed by the artist. The work, which has installed ‘Interactive Art,’ inviting the MZ generation who are familiar with digital civilization to participate in ‘Retro Digital,’ is a discourse on the coexistence between generations.
디지털신화 (Digital Myth) 4차원공간에서의 상호작용

과거 신화에서 프로메테우스가 인간에게 신의 영역이었던 불을 가져와 인류에게 혁명적 문명이 시작될 수 있었듯이, 미래 신화에서 은거북은 인간이 살 수 있는 다차원공간(Tesseract)인 밀러 행성(Miller’s Planet)에서 물을 찾아 가져와 인류는 영원한 생명 순환이 가능하게 된다.
Just as Prometheus brought fire, which was the realm of the gods, to human beings in the past mythology, allowing a revolutionary civilization to begin, in the future mythology, the silver turtle finds and brings water from Miller’s Planet, a multidimensional space (Tesseract) where humans can live, allowing humanity to have an eternal cycle of life.

서울시청이라는 현실적 공간에서 증강 현실을 구동시켜 청정한 물방울 소리와 함께 다각의 형태가 날아다니는 가상 현실을 보여줌으로써 잠시나마 시민들에게 즐거움을 선사하고자 한다.
가만히 보고 듣기를 강요하는 작품 감상법에서 벗어나, 관람객이 QR코드를 휴대전화로 인식하여 작품 속 오브제가 눈앞에 펼쳐지는 증강 현실을 구동시키는 방법을 통해 주체적으로 감상한다. 또한 구동된 AR이미지를 사진에 담아 단 하나의 유일한 작품을 완성한다.
The artist aims to entertain citizens for a moment by running augmented reality in the realistic space of Seoul City Hall, showing a virtual reality of multifaceted-shapes flying around with the clean and clear sounds of water droplets.
Away from the way to appreciate artwork which has been forcing the audience to look and listen still, the audience can enjoy the artwork by recognizing the QR code with a mobile phone and activating an augmented reality where the objects in the work unfold before their eyes. In addition, the activated AR image is captured in a photo to create one and only piece of work.
