는 라틴어로 “태어나는” 또는 “출생하는”이라는 의미로, 새로운 시작 또는 형성 중인 상태를 표현한다. 에스텔 차의 지난 세 전시가 사물의 순환이라는 큰 스토리에 대한 탐구였다면, 이번 네번째 개인전은 에너지가 물질로 변형되는 경이로운 순간에 천착한다. 생물의 탄생, 창조적 발현, 초신성의 폭발 등이 모두 엄청난 양의 에너지가 새로운 생명의 형태로 태어나는 바로 그 경이로운 순간이다. 에스텔 차는 이러한 순간들을 감히 순환 속에서의 ”시작점“ 이라고 칭한다. 끝없는 순환 속에서 “시작”을 찾는 것이 아이러니컬하게 느껴질 수 있지만, 에스텔 차에게는 생성 그 첫 순간에 나타나는 생명의 힘이 가장 강력한 에너지의 발현으로 느껴진다. 그러나 “시작" 또는 "생성”, 즉 "나센스"라고 칭해지는 폭발적인 순간을 겪으면서도 순환은 지속된다. “나센스”는 결국 모든 물질 속에 내재한 본질에서 출발하기 때문이다.

It may seem ironic to pin “beginnings” within the cyclicality of life. Yet, to Estelle Tcha, the initial stirrings of life, embodying nascent energy arising from the earth’s arche, seems to be the most immense burst of energy. Estelle Tcha’s 4th solo exhibition reimagines the incredible moment when energy becomes matter. Whether through biological birth, creative output, or a supernova, immense amounts of energy burst into new forms of life, emerging from the very essence where all matter finds its rest.
