Dynamism of Life is a visual representation of the vitality and harmony of life, expressing its movement and progressive expansion. The open form of the natural stone transcends a static state to reveal organic transformations, and the flow of the sculpture across the space evokes the wavelengths of life. This reflects the vitality and energy inherent in Seoul and metaphorically represents the endlessly changing and growing power of the community.
Sukman Kwon (b. 1965) graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Seoul National University and studied marble sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara in Italy. He went on to earn his master’s degree from the Graduate School of Arts at Chung-Ang University and his doctorate from the Department of Fine Arts at Hongik University Graduate School. He has held numerous solo exhibitions at venues including the Chung Mun Kyu Museum (2023) and Art Musee (2022), and has participated in many group exhibitions at venues such as the Icheon International Sculpture Symposium, Sookmyung Women’s University Moon Shin Museum, Chung Mun Kyu Museum, and Changwon City Masan Moonshin Museum of Art.
<생명의 약동>은 생명의 생동감과 조화를 형상화하며 그 움직임과 변화가 점진적으로 확산되는 과정을 시각적으로 표현한 작품이다. 자연석의 열린 형태는 정적인 상태를 넘어 유기적인 변화를 드러내고, 공간을 가로지르는 조각의 흐름은 생명의 파장처럼 보인다. 이는 서울이라는 도시에 내재된 에너지와 활력을 반영함과 동시에 끊임없이 변화하고 성장하는 공동체의 힘을 은유적으로 나타낸다.
권석만(b.1965) 작가는 서울대학교 미술대학 조소과를 졸업한 후, 이탈리아 까라라 국립 미술 아카데미에서 대리석 작업을 연구하였다. 이후 중앙대학교 예술대학원에서 석사와 홍익대학교 대학원 미술학과에서 박사를 졸업하였다. 정문규미술관(2023), 아트뮤제(2022) 등에서 다수의 개인전을 개최하였으며, 이천국제조각심포지엄, 숙명여대 문신미술관, 정문규미술관, 마신문신미술관 등 다양한 단체전에 참여하였다.
