In the series, Kwak adds various hand-made emoticons to the bodies of the sculptures in an improvised, intuitive matter, creating a site of pure play where different countenances and sensations mingle. Like the images and information we encounter through various channels in our daily lives, Child Sculptor is composed of diverse colors and shapes, reflecting the spontaneous emotions that arose in the artist during his creative process. The viewers can catch a glimpse of a moment of pure play through these works.
