《생동의 서울, 나비의 날갯짓》
《Seoul in Motion, The Flutter of a Butterfly’s Wing》

이번 전시의 주제는《생동의 서울, 나비의 날갯짓》이다. 이후창 조각도시서울 예술감독의 기획으로 도시와 예술의 경계를 허물고, 시민의 일상 속으로 조각의 언어를 스며들게 한다. 뚝섬한강공원에서 펼쳐지는 이번 전시는 ‘지붕 없는 야외미술관’이라는 공공장소와 예술의 융합이라는 미래를 제안하며, 2025 서울조각상 입선작과 함께 원로, 중견 조각가의 특별기획-주제전을 정원형 공간에 조화롭게 구성한다. 생명이 숨 쉬는 서울의 정원, 한강의 바람, 그리고 예술가들의 감각이 빚어낸 조형들은 작은 날갯짓 하나가 거대한 변화를 이끌 수 있음을 상징한다. 다양한 매체와 조형 언어로 표현된 작품들은 서울이 품은 생동감과 공존, 평화, 치유의 메시지를 전 세계로 확산시키는 예술적 나비효과가 되어 줄 것이다. 이번 전시는 서울의 문화정책 비전인 “도시 전체가 예술이 되는 삶의 공간”의 실현이자, 예술과 풍경이 공존하는 새로운 도시 경험의 서막이다.

The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Seoul in Motion: The Flutter of a Butterfly’s Wing.” Curated by Hoo Chang Lee, the Artistic Director of Sculpture City Seoul, the exhibition breaks down the boundaries between the city and art, allowing the language of sculpture to permeate the daily lives of citizens in Seoul. Held at Ttukseom Hangang Park, this exhibition proposes a future where public spaces and art merge together to form a roofless, open-air museum. It features finalists for the 2nd Seoul Sculpture Prize along with a special exhibition of the works of senior and mid-career sculptors, harmoniously arranged in a garden-like space. Seoul’s lively gardens, the breeze from the Han River, and the sculptures come together to symbolize how a small flutter of a butterfly’s wing can lead to drastic change. The works, created with various media and styles, will have a butterfly effect, spreading Seoul’s vitality as well as messages of coexistence, peace, and healing across the world. This exhibition realizes the Seoul city’s vision to become “a living space where the city becomes art,” and is a prelude to a new urban experience where art and landscape coexist.
