The artist observes how the sky and clouds change and seeks to capture the moment by letting ink seep into solid marble. However, the images cannot be fixed in marble and constantly change according to the weather and environment, prompting the viewers to imagine infinite time, a concept unfathomable to humans. The attempt to give shape to an invisible world by imposing oneself onto natural objects is inevitably an unattainable and paradoxical objective. Nevertheless, Kwon never ceases to imagine the impossible as she splits, pierces, and grinds the material she works with.
작가는 가변 하는 하늘과 구름의 상태를 오랜 시간 관찰하고, 이를 단단한 대리석에 잉크를 스며들게 해서 잠시나마 그들의 순간을 붙잡아 두려 한다. 그러나 대리석의 이미지들은 결코 고정되지 못하고 날씨와 환경에 따라 끊임없이 변화하면서 물질 안에 인간이 가늠할 수 없는 무한한 시간을 상상하게 만든다. 자연에서 온 사물에 인간의 개입을 시도하면서 눈에 보이지 않는 세계를 구현하려는 과정은 결국은 도달할 수 없는 역설적인 상황의 연속일 수밖에 없다. 작가는 그럼에도 자신이 다루는 재료를 쪼개고 뚫고 갈아내면서 불가능한 상상을 멈추지 않는다.
