Song Feel uses forms drawn from nature, such as stones, trees, flowers, and animals, to express a strong sense of vitality. As a university student, he witnessed the forced relocation of residents from his hometown due to a dam construction project that submerged the area.  This led to a deep reflection on the helplessness of people in the face of a harsh reality. Song’s work often represents the modern nomad, constantly drifting and unable to take root.

Refugia starts from the concept of “refugia”, a region where a species can survive even during extreme conditions such as an ice age. Song applies this concept to the urban space of Seoul, representing the will and vitality of life through a radiant tree firmly rooted in stone, which symbolizes the earth.

Song Feel(b.1970) earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Sculpture from the College of Fine Arts at Kyung Hee University. He has held solo exhibitions at venues such as Hori Artspace (2024), Art Issue Projects (2024), Posco Art Museum (2023), and the Youngeun Museum of Contemporary Art (2019), and has participated in numerous group exhibitions at venues such as the Gwangju Museum of Art, Seoul Arts Center, Ttukseom Hangang Park, and the Lotte Gallery. He won the Gu Bonju Art Award in 2015.
