Eolsu! is Bang’s reinterpretation of nabi-sang, a traditional hat worn in a Korean folk performance known as sangmo-nori. The sculpture features a figure dancing freely like a butterfly, wrapped in the traditional five colors (obangsaek) and adorned with fluttering white feathers. Bang uses thick and thin lines to capture the dance, adding rhythm and energy through movement and color. The sculpture visualizes the values of stability, harmony, and unity embedded in nongak, a traditional communal performance, as the independent elements of the sculpture supporting each other to create harmony represent the spirit of community. Through this work, Bang wishes for the well-being of those who visit the exhibition, as well as peace for Korea.
